Corporate offices along the LIE and Veterans Memorial Highway
Islandia is a small incorporated village, but its spot on the Long Island Expressway and Veterans Memorial Highway has made it home to office buildings, hotels, and business parks a short drive from the Hauppauge Industrial Park. Tenants include regional and branch offices, insurance and financial firms, healthcare administration, engineering firms, and distributors.
Islandia is about five miles north of our office, just past the Central Islip courts.
For many of these offices, IT is a mix of corporate systems they do not control and local equipment nobody really owns. Our job is to own the local side.
IT for branch offices and multi-site teams
A lot of Islandia offices are one location of a larger company, or they have staff spread across more than one site. That changes the job. Offices need to connect securely to each other with site-to-site VPN or SD-WAN, firewalls need to be configured the same way everywhere, and user accounts, laptops, and phones need to be managed centrally through Microsoft 365 and device management so a new hire is set up the same way in every location.
When a company already has a corporate IT team, we can work alongside it as the local hands: setting up new suites, replacing hardware, running cabling, and handling help desk tickets that need someone on site.
Offices on leased floors also deal with landlords, building wiring, and internet circuits that take weeks to install. We work with building management and the carrier to get service in and cabling run to your suite, so you are not chasing the internet provider yourself during a move.
Security and day-to-day support
For offices that handle financial, health, or client data, we set up endpoint protection on every machine, multi-factor sign-in, email filtering, phishing training for staff, and encrypted backups with tested restores. Monitoring runs 24/7 across computers, servers, and network equipment.
If you are moving into a new Islandia suite, we plan the network closet, run and label the cabling, install the firewall, switches, and Wi-Fi, and set up conference rooms so meetings start on time.
We also handle onboarding and offboarding: laptops prepared before a new hire's first day, and accounts, email, and devices shut off the day someone leaves.
Picking the right kind of IT help in Islandia
If you want one company to own everything, from the help desk to patching to security, look at managed IT services. If you mainly need someone to call when a computer, printer or login stops working, start with IT support and help desk.
Slow Wi-Fi, dropped connections or a firewall nobody has touched in years is a job for network support. And if you have a bigger decision coming, like a move, a new office, a compliance review or a cyber insurance renewal, IT consulting gets you a written plan before you spend money. Security on its own is covered under cybersecurity services.
